NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -
Boaz Vaadia is a well-known sculptor whose work is displayed all around the world. He
invited me to his Williamsburg studio to show me his craft.
Although Boaz is from a farm in Israel, New York played a huge role in what he does today.
To make some very distinctive sculptures that can weigh up to 3,000 pounds, a lot of times he starts
chipping away without a plan we can see.
Whether he's making animals or people, Boaz's work is limited by gravity and the delicacy of the stone he works with.
He's got a great sense of humor about it all, but Boaz is a serious figure in the art world. Elton John is
one of his many customers. He was recently honored at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where
he presented Mayor de Blasio with a limited edition photo of his work.
But despite all his success, Boaz keeps his success in perspective.
"The best judge of art is time," he says.
